Easy access to public transport, tourist attractions, government offices, local hospitals and businesses make this a perfect choice for your stay in our nation’s capital. Listen to this review from a satisfied guest: “Stephanie is an outstanding host to all those staying at her place. Her Southern hospitality shines every time I see her. I have stayed with her many times and she has been terrific and very accommodating.” – Lois, September 2017

What brings you to Washington? If you’re an artist or performer, it’s close to The Kennedy Center, the Washington National Opera, Shakespeare Theatre, and the Arena Stage. Travel nurses and medical professionals will enjoy close access to Kaiser Permanente, Bridgepoint Hospital, Children's National Hospital, and Medstar Washington Hospital. Have business with the Federal Government? Walk to the Supreme Court, the Department of Energy, the Department of State, the House, Senate, and US Capitol Building, and more. And Military guests have a short commute to the Navy Yard area, the National War College or NDU. This home is close to everything, as this former guest says: “Great location - very close to public transport and downtown attractions. Stephanie was a great host! Thanks for your hospitality!” - Saikrishna, July 2017

Authentic American Colonial design touches include crown molding, crystal doorknobs and chandeliers, and Tiffany-inspired lamps. These share space with high-end furnishings and hardwood floors lit by lamplight and sunlight streaming in from the many windows. Enjoy a private, fenced back garden beautifully landscaped with slate tiles, raised beds with a dwarf cherry tree, crape myrtle, Japanese maple, and shady nook arbor attached to the garage, covered with champagne grapes. Furnished with a fire pit, café table and chairs, and a stainless-steel gas grill, the garden is perfect for a relaxing meal or entertaining. Your upstairs master suite is spacious and includes a queen bed, closet and dresser storage, plus mirrored vanity. The full master bath is shared with another professional and includes a full tub and standing shower combination, ample storage, and skylight. Downstairs, the front door opens up to the crystal-chandelier in the foyer and the living room to the right. Big comfy couches, book shelves, Roku tv, and plenty of soft lighting. Dining room has a banquet-style table with chairs and a bench, and entertaining bar cart. The alley-style kitchen features a top of the line stainless steel refrigerator, gas range and oven, microwave, toaster oven, and pretty much everything you could need to cook. Laundry day will be easy via an energy-efficient brand-new washer and dryer in basement laundry room. Another happy former guest said: “Stephanie's place is exactly what one needs when traveling to DC. Her house is in the perfect location, a perfect walk to and from the capitol. She was so accommodating and really makes you feel at home. She offers great advice about things to do and good restaurants. The room is the perfect size and most of the house is open for your use so you can really settle in. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for a month.” – Kenna, August 2017

There’s street parking for a car, but you may not need one. You can store a bike in the garage, or simply walk because everything is close, as the 90-walk score attests. Hop the X8 bus across the street and in a few minutes, you’re at Union Station, where the Metro Red Line takes you all over the city quickly. Besides the National Mall, home to the Smithsonian, Lincoln Memorial enjoy many park and green spaces too, such as nearby Lincoln Park and the US National Arboretum. A block away is famous H Street, a long thoroughfare of great restaurants, cafes, retail large and small, grocery stores, bars and pubs, and much more. A streetcar and a bike share service make H Street easy to explore. One recent guest said: “The location is great for traveling into major tourist attraction or if you have internship with Kaiser like I did :) there are many shops, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc. nearby.” – Sujin, November 2017
